Inner Glow Ruby
Some jewellery announces itself. This ring waits to be found. A ruby born in Sri Lanka, held within a sculpted mount of polished gold, made for the moment you look in.
Designing from the Stone Out
The idea came before the stone: a setting you peer into. The mount takes the ruby's own shape, a cushion holding a cushion.
The sides of the mount rise over the ruby, so you never see the whole stone, only its crown, glowing up out of the gold. Inside, the walls are rounded and scooped, as if with a spoon, and polished to a mirror, so every bit of light that enters comes back as colour.
The mount envelops the stone like a cocoon; the ruby appears to emerge from the metal itself, no raised surface around it, and a fine line of red enamel frames the setting at its widest point. The shank is a knife edge with softly rounded facets, fading into a smooth domed surface at the bottom of the finger, and a dramatic, visible comfort fit: as considered inside as out.

A natural cushion-cut ruby of 4.29 carats in 18k yellow gold, made in size M and resizable, finished by hand; the GRS report travels with the piece. Truly unique; there will not be another.
